Epic Bullion, website and branding, 2015
For an online gold and silver bullion retailer, I chose bright red to stand out in the marketplace. Competitors’ branding tended to be conservative, and the marketplace was crowded. This project demanded something that would set the website apart, offering a memorable image. Heavy typeface, vaguely reminiscent of the Wild West, echo the Gold Rush era; the emotive power of Gold, and precious metals’ association with adventure, fortune, exploration, and individualism.
Product packaging was kept simple, with a handmade feel – again, in contrast to other online bullion dealers, whose packaging is anonymous and functional.
