This screenshot shows the the long lead-up to the recognisable tune of Bach's Fugue. Note that some frames are faded to grey. Because the file is so complex, spread across tens of sequences in Final Cut, the original file has become corrupted. The processing power required to simply navigate the sequence proved too much for the machine it was produced with, which sustained physical and virtual atrophe by the time of the work's completion. |

Originally, this video work was envisioned for ten separate channels.
Each video monitor was to represent a finger of the keyboard player,
so the viewer would see each screen light up as if it were being illuminated by live performance.
This screenshot on the left shows the sequence, resembling pins in a hand-wound musicbox.
The ten channels were eventually condensed into two, implying a more cerebral origin.
