Synchrony (2008) consists of a continuous line of music, whereby the hands play alternating chords in fast succession. The effect is inspired by the sound of a faulty compact disc which 'skips' and extends the original melody, whilst taking on an aesthetic of its own. From this abstract premise emerges syncopated rhythms and fleeting melodies, as if fading in and out of a radio's reception. |
